As experts in swimming pool surround surfacing, we were delighted to be asked by this customer to help transform their garden decking space into a stunning outdoor retreat. This project perfectly demonstrates how the right materials and expert installation can create a seamless blend between functionality and aesthetic appeal.
The millboard decking installation around the pool really complemented the existing stone wall and the greenhouse in the far corner of the garden. We chose millboard decking for this swimming pool surround due to its exceptional properties – it’s slip-resistant when wet, doesn’t splinter like traditional timber, and maintains its appearance year after year without the need for regular staining or sealing.
The warm, natural timber appearance of the millboard creates a beautiful contrast against the bright blue pool water whilst harmonising perfectly with the rustic stone boundary wall and traditional greenhouse structure.
Multi-Level Access: We implemented custom-built steps leading up to the decking and swimming pool area, ensuring safe and easy access from the lower garden level. The angled step design follows the natural contours of the space whilst maximising the usable deck area
Integrated Lighting System: In-ground lighting was strategically placed around the pool area, making sunset and after-dark swimming not only viable but truly magical. These discreet lighting features make the entire garden ‘glow’ during the night, extending the usability of the space well into the evening hours.
Smart Layout Planning: The decking installation was carefully planned to work around existing features like the heat pump unit and greenhouse, whilst creating generous space for poolside relaxation and entertaining.
