Outdoor Home Improvements recently transformed the exterior design of a domestic property using resin patios and natural paving slates. By working with the client, the team delivered an attractive, long-lasting and unique finish that the client could enjoy for many years to come.
The owners of the property wanted to create a cohesive outdoor space that they could enjoy throughout the summer, as well as on those warmer autumn and winter days when the grassy lawn would be too wet to use.
To provide them with their dream outdoor space, our team of landscaping experts designed a natural-looking patio and outdoor space that would blend into the surroundings whilst still giving the home a modern and clean look.

What did the resin driveway & patio project include?

The Outdoor Home Improvements team completed a multi-level garden renovation with a variety of greys and types of flooring to make the design pop.

The Levels:

Level One: The first level of patio wraps around the home in a lighter shade of grey to brighten the area, since it receives less light. Surrounding the paving is a glass balustrade with round stainless steel handrails, creating a look of elegance as well as being a safety feature.

The transparency of the glass allows it to blend in seamlessly with the surroundings as well as makes it significantly easier to host social gatherings where young children and pets need to be kept an eye on.

Level Two: To blend the first, second and third levels, the team installed paving steps and an additional handrail for increased safety. A resin bound patio was laid in the shade ‘moonlight frost’ to create a natural-looking flat surface, perfect for furnishing with outdoor seating.

Since the client had existing features of a pond and a garden shed, the team had to make a bespoke design that took them into account and complemented them. Our team also offers gardening services, so they added some decorative plants to create the perfect pop of colour for tying in the man-made elements with the garden.

Level Three: The team advised on installing resin steps for accessing the garden because their anti-slip properties make it safe to enjoy the grassy space in all weathers. All year round access to the whole exterior of the property was essential, and safety when moving around it even more so.

Benefits Of Installing Resin Bound Patios

Unlike a traditional flagstone and paved patio, a resin bound patio is made from a mixture of aggregate, either marbled or recycled stones, bonded with a clear resin binder – creating a strong, permeable surface.

Resin bound surfacing is the perfect option if you’re wanting a “wow” factor that is bespoke to your home and practical. Not only that, it comes with a wide range of benefits, including:

  • Non-slip properties
  • Perfect for all year-round
  • No mud, splinters or grass stains
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Accessible for wheelchair users
  • Available in multiple designs and resin colours
