Outdoor Home Improvements were thrilled to take on this project for the owner of a stunning barn conversion in Ivybridge, Devon. The property, a beautifully restored stone barn set within open countryside, needed a driveway and courtyard surface that would be in keeping with the character of the building while providing a practical, hard-wearing finish for everyday use.
The customer required a large resin bound driveway and courtyard area to serve as the main entrance and parking space for the property. Given the rural setting and the natural stone construction of the barn, it was essential that the surfacing complemented the rustic aesthetic rather than looking out of place.
The project covered a significant area, wrapping around the front and side of the barn conversion with a generous courtyard that provides ample parking. The site also featured wrought iron railings, granite sett edging and sloping terrain, all of which required careful attention during installation.
Our team managed the entire project from start to finish, including:
The finished driveway looks absolutely fantastic against the natural stone of the barn, and the warm golden tones of the resin sit perfectly within the rolling Devon countryside that surrounds the property.
Resin bound surfacing is an ideal choice for barn conversions, farmhouses and rural properties across Devon and Cornwall. It is fully permeable, meaning it meets SuDS requirements without the need for additional drainage, and the wide range of natural aggregate colours available means the finish can be tailored to suit any property.
